Powerware Enclosure Power Distribution Units (ePDU™) Features and Benefits

Powerware Enclosure Power Distribution Units (ePDU)
Features and Benefits

Choice of power input sources—NEMA, IEC and hardwired inputs from 10A to 60A, 110 or 208V. Provides flexibility and adaptability for the diverse and continually changing data center.
Choice of output receptacles—User-selectable mix of NEMA- and IEC output receptacles (4 to 45 receptacles in various combinations). High-density, high amperage receptacles support blade servers, network switches, and other power-hungry IT equipment. Clearly labeled circuits simplify load balancing.
Branch circuit breakers—UL-489-listed circuit breakers with cable retention brackets, visual indication. Provides branch circuit protection and on/off operation for groups of receptacles; prevents power cords from being accidentally disconnected, display current state.
On-board power metering at the outlet, branch circuit and PDU level (on Metered, Monitored and Managed PDUs). Helps prevent overload conditions, optimize power distribution, and, when applicable, accurately bill internal customers for power usage.
Time-stamped activity logging—Metering, alarm and statistical info for each circuit and the entire PDU. Enables you to assess historical power consumption and quality for a branch circuit or PDU, branch circuit or PDU, to consider past trends before adding new loads.
Trending and load profiling—Data archived and profiled across time, displayed for the previous 23 months. Delivers valuable insight for managing power consumption, diagnosing issues and optimizing utilization of available power at all levels.
Local monitoring—Bright, easy-to-read LED display. Provides a quick visual indication of each circuit’s load, reducing the risk of overloads and tripped breakers.
Remote monitoring over most common communication interfaces (on Powerware Monitored and Managed PDUs). Displays circuit- and PDU-level information, warnings and alarms from anywhere, automatically sent to a building management or power management system.
Advanced Revelation technology for granular receptacle control, plus IPMI support (on Managed PDUs). Enables remote shutdown and reboot of servers over the network, with user-defined sequencing and delays. Monitor and manage system health with IMPI.
Space-saving mounting options—Horizontally in 1U or 2U, vertically in rack side pockets or rear channels. Reserves traditional 1U space for IT equipment. Provides quick and easy installation with no additional mounting hardware or accessories to buy.
Standard two-year warranty. Powerware ePDUs are covered by a two-year limited factory warranty from Eaton, the company Frost & Sullivan has named “Power Quality Company of the Year” for three years in a row.
